As we come to the close of this year, Ensign Cooperative Worldwide extends its heartfelt gratitude to our members, partners, supporters, collaborators, and sponsors across the globe.
For 60 years, Africa has been drowning under a tidal wave of grand speeches, white papers, donor conferences, and endless “capacity building.” And after trillions of dollars in so-called development aid, what does the continent have to show?
The project will use €1m of EU funding to support farmers, at least 30% of whom are women, across Java and Sulawesi, as they adapt to climate change, access sustainable markets, and strengthen gender equality in agriculture.
“Rural co-operatives fill community needs that no other model could fill as efficiently or effectively,” said Masto, whose state of Nevada is home to 70 co-ops.
